Who Deserves the Spotlight?

What do former Vice President and Governor Nelson Rockefeller, opera singer Roberta Peters, and jazz musician Dennis Bell all have in common? Can’t think of anything? Well, I can. They’ve all won an Arts Award! This is ArtsWestchester’s annual award that recognizes a plethora of artistic talent, supportive patrons of the arts, and community do-gooders – all who have impacted and uplifted the arts scene in Westchester.

Since 1976, we’ve been giving Arts Awards to individual artists, organizations, arts patrons, and educators – shining the spotlight on some very unique and deserving individuals and groups. Author Ben Cheever, Hudson Valley Writers’ Center, illustrator Jerry Pinkney, Jacob Burns Film Center, art patron Roy Neuberger, Sarah Lawrence College, and actress Ruby Dee – among many others – have all been past winners. And you, too, can be! Our 2013 Arts Award luncheon will take place in March, and the nomination process is now in full swing. If there is a person or group you know that deserves an award, please nominate them! Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Click here to submit your nomination form, and learn more about each nomination category: https://www.artswestchester.org/things-to-do/party-for-the-arts/arts-award/arts-award-nomination/. All nominations must be received by Friday, December 21, 2012. Don’t waste any time – help us decide who to shine the spotlight on, and salute the creative forces behind Westchester County in 2013!
