Children Are Our Future

Dear Friends:

These are trying times for all of us: so many needs… so many challenges. It is indeed daunting. I think that if 2016 has taught us anything, it is that exercising our freedom of expression is a fundamental privilege we enjoy as Americans. That is why I believe the arts are so important…because the arts in all its forms are at the heart of this freedom. We cherish the arts as our universal language bonding people of all ages in conversation, imagination and thought.

Perhaps you share the view that the arts are an essential ingredient in giving children – all children, no matter their zip code – the tools they need to navigate this world, to make their personal choices and contributions, and to give them the hope they need to better the world. At ArtsWestchester, we support both children and the arts.

So in the spirit of the holidays, and of making the world a better place, we ask you to consider making a contribution of any amount to ArtsWestchester. Please help us to continue inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers and leaders through the arts.

We at ArtsWestchester believe that children are our future and that the arts matter more than ever.

Best wishes for the holiday season,

Janet T. Langsam

Janet, this is a beautiful and convincing description of why the arts are important at this particular political moment. Thanks for adding to the way I think about the arts’ importance.
